Test II Grades are up!

Check 'em out. These grades reflect a 7 point curve (two students received a raw test score of 93), as well as any extra credit you earned between the first and second tests. I'll see everyone next week!

Communication Law & Regulation

This course deals with the genesis and state of freedom of expression and the rights of individuals and media organizations in the United States. It provides an overview of the development of media law with emphasis on the current policies that govern media, as well as how media policies differ around the world. Attention is paid to the local, national and international legal systems and to how they relate to communication at the micro (individual) and macro (societal) levels.

Dr. Shawn Powers

Shawn Powers is an associate director at the Center for International Media Education and an assistant professor of communication at Georgia State University. Dr. Powers specializes in international political communication, with particular attention to the geopolitics of information and information technologies. He’s currently writing a book on the political economy of internet freedom.

Dr. Powers and co-leads GSU’s study abroad program to Istanbul, Turkey titled, “Media, Journalism and Business in a Global Context.” Powers is also an occasional commentator for CNN International, The Guardian, Al Jazeera English, and National Public Radio.
